"Rich had many other attributes, but one other area which must be mentioned was his love for, and dedication to Theta Chi. It was omnipresent, unparalleled (in my opinion), and became what could be considered a driving force in his life. Perhaps like no other, he displayed total and genuine commitment to our chapter, his brothers, the national organization, and the concept of lifelong fraternal brotherhood."

"Whenever we did get together, inevitably Rich would start telling humorous stories from his past, complete with his “machine gun” laugh and occasional screech. One time, I made the mistake of trying to correct him on the facts of a story, to which he quoted, “never let the truth get in the way of a good story”, attributing the quote to Satchel Page. I looked it up afterwards and turns out it was Mark Twain who said it. Rich certainly followed Mark Twain’s advice."
